What Happened in the 1980s?
The 1980s recommended vaccine schedule generated problems for the vaccine manufacturers due to product liability lawsuits that resulted in death and long-term disability among the vaccinated. Due to the financial losses, many pharmaceutical companies decided to drop their vaccine divisions because it was not a financially survivable enterprise.
The 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act
Pharmaceutical lobbyist organized and campaigned to legislators the need for complete indemnity against any product liability regarding vaccine manufacturing or they would discontinue production and the population would then slip into infectious disease epidemics. That was the primary disease-mongering tactics used in the creation of the Act. Of course, the premise is based on vaccine derived herd immunity (debunked) and that yes there is a relative risk but it does not outweigh the benefit (questionable).
The Act was passed and included language that vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe” and cause a myriad of adverse events such as death, encephalopathy, and autoimmune disease, which is listed on theNational Vaccine Injury Compensation Tabled Injuries. At the time, many of those who campaigned for vaccine injury awareness supported the Act because it proposed an avenue for presumed easy compensation for the injured, which has not been the case. The process is arduous, time-consuming, and not patient-centered (Government Accountability Office, 2014). The money that funds the compensation is derived from a consumer tax. So in essesence for the first time in history the consumer is funding liability for product failure not the manufacture.
So What Happened Next?
After the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, the pharmaceutical industry had an orgasm for their win on total manufacturer protection and vaccine production hit the roof along with state lobbying requiring product mandates for public use. The same disease-mongering fear based tactics were used primarily based on vaccine derived herd immunity (debunked) and that yes there is a relative risk but it does not outweigh the benefit (questionable).
It is very clear the 1983 recommended vaccine schedule was causing death, brain injury and other chronic life-long conditions, which resulted in Tort pharmaceutical protection so that manufacturing could continue; however, what resulted was a huge bloat in the schedule with no end in sight.

Changepoint Year for Autism
There has been a considerable effort made to prove that autism is not an epidemic (debunked) so that interested groups can divert attention away from the environmental factors contributing to the diagnosis. If one can say that autism is purely genetic without an environmental cause (debunked) they can lead the conversation away from the speculation that vaccines are a contributing factor. Of course to do that you would have to ignore the overwhelming scientific evidencethat contradicts opinion. But it is a safe place for supporters to linger who support the policy of vaccination. Simply put you cannot have a genetic epidemic. So they are holding onto this claim with all the strength they have.
What I find most interesting is the EPA’s own scientific autism prevalence study, which controlled for things like substituted-diagnosis (mental retardation), and other factors. They concluded that the autism epidemic was real and hit the entire nation across all state lines around the same time-frame, which they call the change point year of autism being 1988-1989 (McDonald, & Paul, 2010).
The recommended vaccination schedule in the 1980s had problematic rates in financial liability which generated the near end of product manufacturing. As a result, the 1986 Childhood Vaccine Injury Act was created primarily to protect vaccine manufacturers from product failure or harm. After the Act, vaccine production skyrocketed as did autism rates across the United States. The pharmaceutical industry is completely shielded from product liability and is pressuring legislators and pediatricians through lobbyist groups and pharmaceutical representatives to mandate and administer a never ending list of vaccines by utilizing ridiculous disease-mongering tactics and unethical beneficence standards that are usurping the informed consent protocols and freedom of health care choice.
